Grips made by the Gripmaker are made from extremely durable urethane and ages (yellows) like ivory. They are made over-sized so that with a little fitting the grips will fit properly. The more generic 1873 S.A. style will require a bit more fitting as it was designed to fit a wider range of import and authentic peacemaker style revolvers.

The sets come in either 1 or 2 piece configurations. The one piece sets come with a spacer that goes between the 2 halves. This is the kind normally found on the imported colt clones. If your revolver has grips that don't have a screw through them, they require a one piece. If you own a Ruger or other style that needs an escutcheon screw to attach the two grip halves, you will need a 2 piece set. We do include a escutcheon screw with the grip set. If you want a sculpted design on the right or left, the design half will have a "Blind" hole on the inside so that the design itself won't have a hole through it. You can however request that the screw go all the way through and we will drill it that way for you.

If you have an odd shaped grip frame and want to send us a tracing, we will gladly let you know if we have anything that will fit it.

Every set of grips will include a detailed instruction sheet on fitting your grips as well as ideas on enhancing the design by ageing (dying) or creating the illusion of cracks. The idea is to be creative and make these grips "one of a kind" to match your character.
